Volkswagen Vanagon For Sale

This is a 1983 VW Vanagon, the last of the air-cooled Volkswagen vans. This one has an engine that was rebuilt about 10 years ago, then driven for four years. We drove this to southern Mexico a couple of times with no problems. 161k miles. It was my daily driver until a couple of years ago when one of the heads went bad. I have the replacement head, but lost the ambition to do the work. This van will be a gem for someone with the time and know how. The seats were reupholstered during our last trip to Mexico. It has the solid steel sliding sunroof, which I never could get to work right, so I covered it with a sheet of stainless steel. Looks odd, IF you can see it, but it has never leaked in any storm or car wash. Manual 4-spd transmission with recent clutch. No broken glass. No electrical problems. Needs a battery. It starts and runs, but needs that head replaced to be healthy again. I have too many vehicles here, and the wife says this one has to go. Includes lots of spare parts. 847-639-1062
